I think this is very important and as a person who took this drug for more than two years I’m very disappointed with FDA’s decision

Long Island mom-of-three Betsy Swerksy says she wouldn’t be here right now if it wasn’t for Avastin — and that the Food and Drug Administration’s recommendation that use of the drug be discontinued could be a death sentence for her.

“It’s lifesaving,” the 51-year-old Merrick homemaker said of Avastin, which was prescribed to her two years ago. “And I want my oncologist to be able to say that if I still need this drug, I should be able to get it.”

First diagnosed with breast cancer in December 2005, Swersky had a recurrence in 2008, at which point her doctor prescribed Avastin. Read the rest of this entry »

It’s almost here; Christmas Shopping…

It’s starts this week, right after Thanksgiving and it starts early as you know…

I’ve never ever woke up early to go shopping and do not plan to do so… Usually I shop online or if I have time I go on regular hours.

I’m so sorry that I’ve not been writing anything for more than 2 months… I’v been very very very busy. First we went on vacation for 3 weeks and then we’ve been renovating the house and since no contractor wanted the job (we saw 7+ contractors) we decided to do the job ourselves and it took a lot of time and humanpower to do the work I couldn’t write anything… We’re still not done but today I decided to give a little update on myself;

First of all I stopped dieting two months ago; yes I’m only midway to my goal but with everything I’ve been doing it’s been so hard to keep up with it. But the good thing is I now know how to eat and what to eat I maintain the weight that I lost… 37 pounds is not so bad afterall.

Schools started so we’ve been kind of trying to adapt to this, so far it’s good.

I’ve been hiding something which is we have a dog now… She’s a goldendoodle and she’s 7 months, we got her when she was 2 1/2 months old. She’s our first dog so it’s been kind of hard to train her but we’re getting somewhere.
