A movie: Grey Gardens
I watched this movie last night; it was a really good movie… First of all the acting on both Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange were superb. After I watched it I went online to see the real Edith Bouvier Beales and I couldn’t believe my eyes; both mother and daughter were portrayed exactly the same. There are some clips of the original documentary from 197os online, I’d recommend you to watch it.
There are lots of things to talk about, but instead of talking just watch it; their lives the glorious days and then the days living in a trash house and fallen dreams and being dependent of each other, a mother’s miserable behavior of keeping down her daughter and dying as far from the glorious days as anyone can be.
I felt sorry for these women; how they were not helped when they clearly needed help and I’m not talking about cleaning the house. They could have been leading a different life.
