womanPeople don’t really understand the value of life, their loved ones and time until something bad happens to them.

Have you ever stop for a second in all the noise of life and imagine yourself free on top of a mountain with open arms, breathing the clean air  while breeze gently beating your face?

Or in all the complexity of life, imagine yourself taking a nap on a sun bed on the beach while sun kissing your face and warms you deep into your bones,  listening to the lullaby of the waves?

Or imagine yourself singing with the birds by the lake while breathing the fresh fragrance of trees?

You don’t do it because you are so involved with everyday life; 9 to 5 work, traffic, cooking, sending kids to school, helping with the home works, spending time with your spouse, waiting till the next episode of Desperate Housewives or Grey’s Anatomy etc; for days, months, years living the same life, same way while dreaming the 2 weeks vacation a year.

Until some doctor tells you that you have cancer… Then you stop; you question yourself “what am I doing? Is it worth the things I’m doing, life I’m living, everything, the chaos? Is it really worth? Why haven’t I told the life that I’m taking 5 minutes break and will take slower steps.”

But it’s late already, especially if you don’t have much time left and they hid that reality from you. Then the life takes you in again, this time your everyday life becomes the chemo days, doctor visits, mri’s, cat/pet scans, chemo sickness. Again you forget to stop to take breath and take the smell of a beautiful flower into your lungs.

If they didn’t tell you how much time left you may die without doing the things you always wanted to do in your lifetime.

But if they tell, then everything stops. Now no rushing the works to finish till tomorrow or no inexciting new episode of your favorite show is important enough. All you do, think and breathe is living. Really, relishing every moment, enjoying with every living cells in your body.

Have you ever heard of a story about a man who goes to his doctor only to get the bad news; that he has only 1 week left to live. Doctor says “if I were you I would do the things that I didn’t have a chance to do before and enjoy the rest of my days, live careless.”

The man leaves the office sad but decides to take up the advice. He eats the things he stayed away, goes to the cities he didn’t go, even falls in love.

He enjoys it so much that he wishes one more week. Weeks follows months and then after a year he goes back to his doctor; “Last year you told me that I had only one week to live, do you remember? he asks.

Doctor answers; “Maybe to shorten or lengthen your life was in your hands, maybe you enjoyed the things you did so much that happiness and will to live gave you life.”

Of course the real life is not like in the stories but what if it is? What if we fulfill the plans we make for next month or year, now, and that pays back as a healing. Don’t we hear the stories of such neighbors, friends or relatives like ”doctors said no chance but he/she’s still alive”

Ok, maybe it’s not gonna cure you but, but what if you die happy?
