Organization; Family organization
Ok, now I continue to write about organization and the subject is family organization. It’s hard to schedule everything especially if you have big family, hopefully these tips will help you to get organized…
Maintain one master family calendar in a central place in the house. Remind everyone to be sure to write their appointments on it to avoid conflicts. Each family member old enough to do so should keep his/her own calendar as well. Check in with each other regularly to be sure that they all match.
Designate one shelf, drawer, or other space as a gift wrap center. Store wrapping paper, gift bags, ribbon, bows, tissue paper, scissors, tape etc. together. Buy all-occasion paper so you will have less to store.
Keep an ongoing shopping list in the kitchen with a pen or pencil nearby. Write down the items you need for a recipe when you decide to make it, items that are running low, or thins you need for an upcoming occasion. Ask everyone in the family to add to the items when they think of something or use the almost-last-one of something. Remember to always take the list to the supermarket.
Borrow books from the library instead of buying them. You will save money and space.
Set up a magazine exchange with family members or friends. You can all subscribe to different ones and pass them along to each other. You will probably keep up with reading them because you know someone is waiting for them. And you will all have less clutter, save money… and trees.
Designate one place in the house where everyone will put out-going mail.
Many people find designating one weekend a month to be a “De-clutter” weekend to be helpful. You can take a step back and realize what you do/don’t need. Those things you do need get put away and those things you don’t need get put up for sale on AmericanListed.com – a new, free, family-friendly alternative to Craigslist. If you are looking for a safe environment where you can sell to neighbors and others in your community, check it out – http://bit.ly/cRUoQA
