What happened yesterday:
I bought Skechers Shape ups 2 weeks ago and I liked them, I walk 20 minutes everyday and wear them all day long and basically my knee pain is not as bad as before. I told my mom about it who has terrible knee pains and she asked if I can buy one for her. So I went to Macy’s at Roosevelt Field, they have them for $100 meanwhile Skechers sells them for $120.
When I walked to the shoe department in Macy’s I saw a saleslady standing there and I asked her the size showing the black one.
She went back of the store and came back and said “we don’t have that size” and she turned her back to me and asked another customer if she needs help.
By the way yesterday I didn’t cover my head and I’m just getting back hair back after I stopped chemotherapy.
I wasn’t finished with my questions, I tried to ask her but she was not interested.
So I walked up to the other sales person and asked him saying “I asked that lady about this color but I need to learn if you have this size for this color”.
When the first sales person heard that I asked somebody else she said “I told you we don’t have that size”. I said “you told me about the black one, now I’m asking about this color” again she said “no I told her already” like she didn’t want anybody else to help me.
I said “you were not clear, I did not hear you said anything about the other ones”.
She was rude, turned her back to me and went to the back office. I waited for her to return because I started to feel really bad and thought she’s acting this way because I’m not a normal looking person.
She avoided the door that I was waiting and when I turned around I saw her coming from another door.
I went by her and wrote down her name and said “you were very rude and I’ll write a complaint about you”. I was trying to hold back my tears because I had my 6 year old with me and I didn’t want her to see me crying. As I was leaving Macy’s I decided to ask for the store manager and learned that he was off that day but they called the assistant manager and I told her what happened.
She was nice and listening to me but she kept asking me what I want her to do. Isn’t it obvious? I wanted somebody to put some sense into that lady and I told her that.
That salesperson made my whole day went horrible. I really did not feel that bad since I was diagnosed. The salesperson was eager to help anybody else but when it came to me she was almost running away from me and also making other salesperson to stop helping me.
I can not think of any reason but my appearance. I was planning to shop many things besides shape ups but I went back home without buying anything and had to explain what happened to my daughter.
